Town of Starks Appeals Board Hearing
The Appeals Board will have a public hearing on a request from the Starks Holding LLC for an extension variance on their solar array project. This variance request would allow the Planning Board to grant the second extension for which they have applied from 6 months to 18 months. Summary: The Site Plan Review Ordinance limits the duration of the Site Plan Approvals to an initial twelve months and two 6 month extensions. The Starks holding LLC would like to extend the second extension to an 18 month extension instead of 6 months due to issues beyond their control.

7th Annual Fat-Tire Bike Loppet
Our bike courses take advantage of the beautiful varied terrain we have available here at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center, from wide straight-a-ways to gradual ascent and descents, to some aggressive hill climb/descent opportunities. Views and possible wildlife sightings are included! Classes include 10 and 20 mile nordic groomed, 10 and 20 mile single track mix, and a 10 mile nordic untimed tour. On Fridays, February 4 and February 18 at 4:00 pm, the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2614 Main Street, Rangeley, will offer candlelit Choral Evensong, one of the most beloved services in the Anglican tradition. Many find Evensong, which only lasts a little over a half hour, to be a service of mystical beauty as the day comes to an end. Evensong at Good Shepherd is an especially lovely service, as the ancient prayers and chants combine with the candlelight inside and the gradual coming of evening viewed through the lakeside windows.
