The Chesterville Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 14, 2021, will feature a Chicken BBQ cooked by Bob Gramlich at the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road. For $10.00, the meal will consist of half a chicken, coleslaw, rolls and butter, and pickles. Meals may be eaten on the premises or be taken out. Serving will begin at 11:00 a.m. Beverages may be purchased separately for $1.00. Proceeds from the BBQ will be used for next year's Family Fun Day.

Performing in this year’s Nordica Day Concert will be Kaleigh Hunter and Emma Jones, winners of last year’s Nordica Scholarship. They will be live-streamed from Nordica Auditorium on August 17 at 7:30. August 17 was the date in 1911 when world-famous opera diva and Farmington native, Lillian Nordica, performed in her hometown.The direct link to the live-streamed performance can be accessed on mtbluetv.org or artsfarmington.org. Bat Walk: BATS! A program for all ages! Hosted by the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library, Mt. Vernon, Maine Save the date! Friday August 20 meet at the library at 7pm to enjoy a bat snack, learn some interesting facts about bats, see a bat skeleton and bat guano amongst other things, and for the younger crowd, listen to a bat story and do a bat craft if there is time. If not, Take & Makes will be available. At around 7:45pm we will head over to Teaberry Lane, where parking will be available on the first house on the right.

Farmington Historical Society yard sale
Farmington Historical Society will be holding it's almost annual yard sale this coming Saturday, September 4th from 8 until 2 on the lawn of the Octagon House, corner of High and Perham Sts. The sale was not held last year so there will be more items for sale. All proceeds go to heating and maintaining the three buildings the society manages, the North Church, the Octagon also known as the Hiram Ramsdell House, and the Titcomb House. Funds are also needed to keep it's collection of historic Farmington artifacts and documents safe and available to the public. For more information
