FARMINGTON – Fans of the current craze of pop-rock a cappella performance will enjoy a festive collaboration of three talented groups 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24 at Nordica Auditorium of Merrill Hall on the UMF campus.

A special concert featuring three talented youthful groups, to include the Brown University “Chattertocks,” the University of Maine at Farmington Clefnotes, and the Mount Blue High School Mt. Blue Voices.
|
Farmington is part of the Chattertocks’ January East Coast Tour itinerary due to member Elisabeth Stancioff’s roots with the Mt. Blue Voices.
The Chattertocks are Brown University’s oldest all-female a cappella group, dating back to 1951, and perform widely. Mt. Blue Voices, meanwhile, have been performing statewide and at Disney World roughly bi-annually since 1995. UMF’s Clefnotes, formerly known as Sole Expression, are the newest group, but have built a strong fan base on campus over the past few years.

The collaboration promises to be lively and spontaneous. A cappella performance of contemporary hits is garnering public attention and enthusiasm, as reflected in the recent TV competition called “Sing-Off,” in which a college group was a strong contender in the final round.
Donations will be requested at the door, as all three groups rely on fund raising to cover expenses. FMI call 778-3513.
