FARMINGTON – Irene Duplissis of Auburn will be SugarWood Gallery’s featured Artist of the Month in April. An Open House Reception is planned for Friday, April 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 3 from 11 to 3 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be available.

‘Rustic realism’ are the best words to describe Irene Duplissis’ style of transparent watercolor. Most of her subjects are beautiful characteristics of our New England states, both past and present.

Irene has been a professional artist for many years. Her art interest began at age nine while in private elementary school in the Lewiston-Auburn area under the tutelage of French nuns.

Irene has exhibited extensively and her work can be found in various galleries and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She currently is devoting most of her time to teaching art in the local area and doing workshops.

SugarWood Gallery is located at 248 Broadway in Farmington. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
