Arts center announces winter programs

1 min read

WILTON – The Foothills Arts Center is presenting a variety of winter arts classes and workshops for adults and children. Professional artist-teachers will lead these joyful sessions of creative learning, which include watercolors, theater, mixed-media art, story-telling, drawing, folk-singing, book-making, Spanish, and songwriting.

The first set of classes starts Jan. 6, and there are others that start at different times throughout the winter months—weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.

People can mix and match from a myriad of options to suit their schedule, from a one-hour class to a six-week series. There is a set of morning visual art classes for toddlers accompanied by an adult, after-school classes for first through sixth graders, evening classes for high school students and adults, February vacation workshops for grades K and up, and art and music classes on Saturdays.

That is just a sampling of the 18 winter classes that will take place at Foothills, the region’s community arts center, located in the historic Bass-Wilson Building in downtown Wilton.

Creative Foothills gift certificates are available for any and all classes.

The Foothills Arts Center was founded in 1989 by and for the Western Maine community to bring together children and adults, artists and audiences to share the arts in an atmosphere that encourages learning, exploration, and collaboration.
