Kay Whytock Jackson has partnered with friend and author Elizabeth “Scottie” Scott, a Brunswick native, to celebrate three books being published and released in a year.

Their first book, Adventures with Mama Scottie and the Kids, was featured at the 2009 Texas Library Association Conference in Houston, TX. This book explains who the “kids” are and how they became a family. The second book in the Mama Scottie series is It’s Rodeo Time with Mama Scottie and the Kids. In this episode, Mama Scottie takes the characters to the Houston Rodeo where they enjoy the sights and sounds of the rodeo. Scott’s true Christmas tale entitled Christmas Tree, tells about Scott’s true experience of choosing a Christmas tree as a child is an ideal addition to the holiday season reading list.

Jackson, illustrator, formerly of Mexico, is the designer of MY ROOTS ARE IN MAINE! and This Little Sprout Has Roots in Maine logo products, and is a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington. She currently resides in Weld with her husband, Eddie.

Scott and Jackson are currently planning another children’s story centered around the remembrances of a young man’s experiences with his grandfather while he serves in Iraq.
