Contributions needed for musical performance

I want to tell you about an amazing experience the Wilton schools have had over the last three years. We have had the opportunity to bring the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) Company to our town. Past plays have included the Wizard of Oz, Little Mermaid and Cinderella.

In May, MCT plans to return to Wilton to produce a unique interpretation of “Hansel and Gretel.” MCT Directors are scheduled to arrive on a Monday, auditioning and casting kids that afternoon. They will work with 60+ students after school throughout the week. The five days of hard work and fun culminates on Saturday, when family, friends and community members pack the Academy Hill School auditorium for each of the hour-long musical performances. The Missoula Children’s Theatre productions have been a wonderful opportunity for our students. By participating in the Missoula Children’s Theatre program, our children gain personal growth and improved self-esteem. The experience is invaluable and builds character and productive, creative, community members

As a parent I have been so proud and impressed watching the productions, and so appreciative for the opportunity for our kids to have access to the performing arts.

Historically, the Wilton Schools have been paying for the program with grants and community support. This year we have created the “Missoula Children’s Theater Fund.” We are hoping that businesses and the community will continue to pitch in so we can continue this important tradition.

We still need to raise most of the money. For more information on how to contribute, please call RhondaSchanck at the Cushing School 645-2442 or mail your contribution directly to The Wilton PTF: CushingSchool, 21 Cushing Drive, Wilton, ME 04294 attn: MCT Fund

The Show Must Go On!
Thank you so much!
