FARMINGTON – Smithfield artist Donna Asmussen returns to Farmington’s SugarWood Gallery as Artist of the Month for July. An Open House Reception will be held Friday, July 3rd from 5 to 7 PM and the public is invited.
Donna says that art has played many roles in her life…
“a natural pursuit as a child in an artistically inclined family, a way to reach ‘unreachable’ students during her many years in education, and a major contributor to recovery from a life-changing injury.”
Her background in education has led her to continue connections with local schools and libraries, loaning original watercolors to the children’ s rooms of local libraries to encourage more children to experiment with art.
Donna enjoys many art mediums including watercolor, collage, and printmaking. She is currently working on a series of small pen and ink scenes painted in watercolor; several of these will be on display at the gallery.
SugarWood Gallery is located at 248 Broadway in Farmington. Hours are Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
