Sunflowers by Adria (Dee) Keneagy.

Dee Keneagy started painting in the mid 1990s when the youngest of her four children set out for college. Exploring a long suppressed interest, she enrolled in courses in color theory and design, and immersed herself in the offerings of the Guild Studio School in Northampton, MA. She studied there with realist Barbara Johnson (oils), and well known pastelists Jamie Young and Jane Lund, and several watercolor artists.

Dee has exhibited her work at the Western Maine Art Center in Norway, the Mt. Washington Valley Art Association Gallery in No. Conway, NH, Pennacook Gallery in Rumford, Gallery 302 in Bridgton, and the Mermaid Gallery in So. Paris, and locally in Belgrade and the Maine Bone Carving gallery. Also in many hospitals, libraries and banks.

Dee finds inspiration in the beauty of the Maine landscape, particularly the mountains and lakes of western Maine where she lives, and also in her gardens and wildflowers.

Dee served four years on the Board of Directors for the Western Maine Art Group in Norway, ME, three of which she organized their annual juried show. She also served on the initial board during the development of the Bridgton Art Guild and Gallery 302 in Bridgton, ME.

SugarWood Gallery is located at 248 Broadway in Farmington. Hours are 10 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
