New SugarWood Gallery show opens Friday

FARMINGTON – June Dragoon of Hillside Art Gallery in West Peru, Maine, will be the featured artist during October at SugarWood Gallery in Farmington.

June has studied with a number of well-known artists and works in a variety of mediums. She says “painting gives me a new way of looking at the world” and that she “finds magic in watercolor.” She has participated in many gallery and sidewalk shows. Her work has been chosen for decorating at several hospitals and educational institutions and is in private collections throughout the world.

June enjoys painting New England scenes and florals. She has an adventurous spirit and enjoys mountain climbing, especially Mt. Katahdin and the Knifes Edge. She is an enthusiastic camper and alpine skier.

June’s latest advancement in her artistic development has been in the field of portrait paintings in oil. She has been commissioned to do a number of private individual paintings and finds she enjoys the process and sees this area as becoming more important to her continued development.

An Open House Reception will be held Friday, Oct. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be provided. June’s work will be on display throughout the month of October for the public to view and purchase.

SugarWood Gallery is located at 248 Broadway in Farmington. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
