Local businessman Scott Landry will be recognized at an Open House Reception beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 5. The public is invited. The reception will conclude at 7 p.m. and resume Saturday at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Scott Landry was born in Dexter, Maine, where he graduated from Dexter High School. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a B.S. in Education.

Scott lives in Wilton with his wife Brenda and owns The Shiretown Insurance Agency in Farmington.

He has been involved in photography since the 1960s when he started photographing weddings with his father Horace, a journalist and photographer. One can say Scott carries on the tradition begun by Mickey McGuire and Dick Bell. Both noted photographers of Franklin County happenings in the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s. Scott’s photos have been used by the news media documenting events in and about the area for many years.

When not tending to local citizens and businesses’ risk protection, or documenting life’s events through his lens, Scott can be found tending another passion, raising and competing racing pigeons.

Scott will be bringing his interpretive work to SugarWood to share with the public. He not only has an eye for capturing his surroundings but he can bring out the art in his subjects.

Scott’s work will remain on exhibit and available for sale during the month of March. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m, Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
