FARMINGTON – A 2007-2008 Franklin County Chamber of Commerce welcome guide received a general excellence award from the national business magazine, Graphic Design USA.

The 75-page glossy guide, won this year’s general excellence award in the category of “Brochures and Collateral.”

The annual competition included more than 8,000 entries this year in 23 categories.

Lorna Nichols, the Chamber’s executive director, has designed the annual guide for three years running.

The Graphic Design award recipients include the work of graphic design firms, advertising agencies, corporate and institutional designers, general publishers and media firms.

Nichols said she was deeply honored and believes the award boosts the Chamber’s mission to welcome visitors to Franklin County. Requests for the guides have increased and so has the number produced in order to meet the demand.

“This award is exciting for the Chamber. It is always great to be recognized for the hard work that we have put into producing this publication. It is affirmation that the direction the Board of Directors and members have set for the Chamber is on course,” said Matt Wotton, the Chamber’s president.

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Lorna in the printing of the Guide, and can attest to her talent and enthusiasm. The quality of the content and design comes directly from her intense love for this area, and attention to detail.
Good for you, Lorna! Keep up the good work.
