Farms, Farmstands and area businesses that sell locally grown or produced products are invited to list their businesses in the 2011 edition of Mabel’s Book: A Guide to Farms & Farmstands in Western Maine.
Now in its fifth year of publication, Mabel’s Book features information on more than 100 farms in Oxford, Franklin, Somerset and Piscataquis counties, in addition to articles on when produce is in season and how to store, can and preserve local foods. Mabel’s Book is available free to the public through town offices, libraries, local businesses and the Western Mountains Alliance, or by visiting the Western Mountains Alliance website.
