RANGELEY – The Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Judith Morton has recently been hired as Executive Director.

Judy Morton

Morton, a graduate of the University of Maine and a native of Rangeley, has had years of experience in the tourism industry. She worked at the motel her parents built in Rangeley, ran her own water-ski teaching business, was personnel director at the Eastland Hotel, Portland (then the Sonesta Hotel), and worked with her husband for 12 years in the convenience store/marina business that they have recently sold.

She served as a Rangeley selectman, was on the Rangeley Planning Board, and previously was a Chamber Board of Director. While a director, she initiated and chaired the Rangeley Lakes Summer Celebration.

A very active Board of Directors has undertaken numerous changes in the operation of the Chamber. A new dues structure was adopted at the recent annual meeting, several new events including monthly afternoon networking sessions and educational opportunities such as a social media seminar have been sponsored, and fund raising efforts that have tripled previous revenues are some of the current new activities.

A business membership drive is underway at this time and will be followed by a Friends and Associates membership campaign in early spring.
