The Central/Western Maine Workforce Investment Board recently hired Jeffrey Sneddon as their new executive director.  Sneddon will administer all aspects of the non-profit’s workforce development activity and help coordinate the public/private system in one of Maine’s four workforce region.

For the past ten years, Sneddon has been working with the MidCoast Council for Business Development and Planning. While there, he helped manage Community Development Block Grants,  business loan programs, technical assistance and site location, as well as working on the Brunswick Naval Air Station redevelopment effort.  Previously Jeff administered Small Business Development Centers in Virginia and Florida.

Sneddon replaces longtime executive director, Bryant Hoffman, who retired at the end of June.

The Central/Western Maine Workforce Investment Board coordinates workforce development activity in a five-county region of Central/Western Maine, including the counties of Androscoggin, Franklin, Oxford, Kennebec and Somerset. They are one of four local workforce investment boards in Maine that occupy similar regional workforce training functions.
