Western Maine Market now open!

2 mins read

The Western Maine Market is once again open for shopping until 1:00pm on Monday.

Each week the Western Maine Market gets just a little bit bigger, with more choices for your tummy to enjoy. This week we have a new baker, Anna Diebold of Phillips who bakes artisan breads. Anna offers cheese breads in a choice of cheddar or mozzarella as well as and olive and pumpernickel breads.

These breads go wonderfully with the Fromage Blanc from the Sherman Farm and sautéed dandelion greens from Rasmussen Farm. Speaking of Rasmussen Farm, they have Squash Flowers and fresh herbs available this week. Squash Flowers!

Archer Angus has also joined the market and can help you and your friends and family fill your freezers this season. Ray and Linda Buck practice humane and hormone-free husbandry to offer you sides of grass fed Black Angus Beef. Organize your meat-enjoying friends and give yourselves the gift of save, local beef to last you all year long.

Finally, please visit the WMM’s Honey, Maple & Candy section where you will find the most amazing chocolate goat milk fudge. Those of you who enjoyed a sample of it at last week’s market know what I mean. This fudge is smoothest and creamiest and has the ability to help AIDS victims in Africa! Proceeds from the sale of this fudge will go toward the Swaziland Goat project see: Chocolate Goat Fudge. It’s a great way to act locally, while thinking globally.

Enjoy and see you Tuesday!
