About Master Maine Guide Bill Richards

Bill is a Registered Maine Guide with over 30 years of experience. It has been his good fortune during this time to guide clients for trout and salmon in his native Maine. In addition, his personal fishing experiences have included locations throughout North and South America. For example, Bill has fished the Manitou River in Northern Quebec, the Yellowstone and Big Horn Rivers in Montana, The Provo in Utah, and rivers within Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula where he caught Grayling, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char and Coho Salmon.

Perhaps Bill’s most memorable and adventurous fly-fishing experience occurred fishing for Bonefish and Permit at Los Rogue’s, an island off the coast of Venezuela. While wading among Mango trees in waist-deep water Bill hooked a good size Bonefish on a “Crazy Charlie “ fly. As he attempted to retrieve the “Bone” a rather large Nurse Shark joined the activity. Bill survived but the shark got the Bone.
