Storytelling workshops continue
Have you ever wished you could keep a crowd on the edge of their seats with a good story? Well now is your chance! The Rangeley Friends of the Arts has received a Discovery Grant from the Onion Foundation to host Storytelling Workshops. The workshops will be held twice a month with an opportunity to perform monthly. Come craft your story with our favorite funny man, storyteller extraordinaire and RLRS English teacher, Tim Straub. Participants should come to the workshop with some ideas for your own story, something that really happened to you. Since you are telling a true story,
Living Well with Chronic Pain
This class is designed for people who have a diagnosis of chronic pain, offering strategies for dealing with their symptoms. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.
Campfire Chronicles

Each campfire chronicle will have a different theme. May 28th is on the heels of our garden party so we will make a day of fun to celebrate springtime.
Better Health Now with Diabetes
Better Health with Diabetes is a free mail order toolkit for those who have or are at risk of diabetes and/or their caregivers. Participants must pre-register to receive their toolkit workshop materials and work with a certified leader via telephone or ZOOM at predetermined times either by yourself or in small groups. This process allows the participant all of the educational benefits of the Living Well with Diabetes workshop and equips them with tools to effectively manage their ongoing condition(s), all while maintaining social distancing from their home.
Creating Your Business
ZoomBusiness planning can feel at odds with your passion and desire for creating a business. But it doesn’t have to! In this 1.5 hour session, we will draw from our Right Brain and “maker” approaches to designing a business plan. Through whole group, 1:1 feedback buddy time, and individual time to work on your own, we’ll navigate the planning process through a creative & intuitive lens. UMF - Lincoln AuditoriumWestern Maine Audubon presents “Maine’s Damselflies and Dragonflies” – a presentation by Dr. Ron Butler Western Maine Audubon will sponsor a presentation by Dr. Ron Butler titled, “Maine’s Damselflies and Dragonflies” on Wednesday, May 11th at 7:00 pm in UMF’s Lincoln Auditorium. This presentation—which is open to the general public—will begin with a general overview of the evolution, ecology, and behavior of damselflies and dragonflies (Order Odonata). This will be followed by a brief survey of some of Maine’s 161 known odonate species. Finally, conservation concerns for this important group of insects will be discussed, and resources to facilitate contributions
