OTIS FCU is holding their Annual Yard Sale for Ending Hunger on Saturday, August 19 from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the OTIS FCU parking lot (170 Main Street, Jay). From sports equipment to household goods, a variety of items will be available for purchase by donation. All donations will be accepted, and all proceeds go to local food pantries through the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Tours are free, but donations are encouraged and appreciated. All donations go toward matching a $25,000 grant received to repair the museum foundation. Chicken BBQ at Chesterville Family Fun Day

A Chicken BBQ will be cooked by Bob Gramlich and be for sale after the 11:00 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to dedicate the new playground at the Chesterville Town Office on Saturday, August 19th or rain date Sunday, August 20th.  The meal will cost $13.00 for a half chicken, roll, butter, pickles, chips and dessert, or $14.00 with a beverage.  This event is sponsored by the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers and will benefit the Chesterville Recreation Department.  FMI 778-3156

Harnden Masonic Building, 70 Bryant Road, East Wilton, Maine , from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.  The menu will be Oven Roasted Brisket, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy Vegetable, Dinner Roll, and Homemade Dessert.  The price will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for those under 12.  Public Suppers are sit down service in the hall.
