Two generations of Boardman musicians to perform at Chesterville Center Union Meeting House in Chesterville, Maine, Thursday, July 14 at 7 p.m. The concert will feature vocals, guitar, and songwriting by anguid (aidan boardman) and the traditional-style fiddling of his father Greg Boardman. Both musicians will play solo and in combination to present a legacy of family musicianship with deep roots in Maine and beyond. Aidan Boardman has created projects Dreamt and anguid and his studio experience has included innovative solo work as well as frequent guitar support for fellow artists. People have read Robert Frost, Shakespeare, Jane Kenyon, Shel Silverstein, and many more to us over the years. Aztec Two Step 2.0 returns to the Vienna Union Hall with Maine native and soon to be named to the Central Main Institutes Hall of Fame, Rex Fowler. Rex is joined by his wife Dodie Pettit, Steven “Muddy” Roues, Peter Hohmeister, and Joe Meo. After “lifting” the band’s name from a poem by beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti and writing the first song for or about Jack Kerouac’s iconic novel, “On The Road,” the story of Rex and Aztec Two-Step is intertwined with the history of folk/rock music in America.
