Storytelling workshops continue

Have you ever wished you could keep a crowd on the edge of their seats with a good story? Well now is your chance! The Rangeley Friends of the Arts has received a Discovery Grant from the Onion Foundation to host Storytelling Workshops. The workshops will be held twice a month with an opportunity to perform monthly. Come craft your story with our favorite funny man, storyteller extraordinaire and RLRS English teacher, Tim Straub. Backroad Books read-a-thon!

You're invited to the Backroad Books 12-hour read-a-thon! The event will be May 21 from noon to midnight in the courthouse parking lot adjacent from Java Joes (church street) in Farmington. Bring your book! Bring your camp chair! Bring a few bucks for ice cream from Fresh Ellas! Pledge cards can be picked up at Twice Sold Tales (155 Main Street, Farmington). Vienna Union Hall 5 Vienna Mountain Road, Vienna

The Vienna Union Hall announced the Katahdin Valley Boys one of Maines’s premiere bluegrass bands will return to the Vienna Union Hall, May 21, 2022 at 7 PM. The group plays traditional bluegrass music throughout the State of Maine and New England area. The band consists of four members who all rotate singing lead and provide beautiful, tight, harmonies and smooth solos. The Katahdin Valley Boys were honored as recipients of the “Bluegrass Band of the Year” award for 2012 by The Maine Country Music Association and in 2008, 2009 and 2011 by the Maine Academy of Country Music.
