Storytelling workshops continue

Have you ever wished you could keep a crowd on the edge of their seats with a good story? Well now is your chance! The Rangeley Friends of the Arts has received a Discovery Grant from the Onion Foundation to host Storytelling Workshops. The workshops will be held twice a month with an opportunity to perform monthly. Come craft your story with our favorite funny man, storyteller extraordinaire and RLRS English teacher, Tim Straub. Maine’s Paper & Heritage Museum Open for Tours

The Paper & Heritage Museum will be open for tours and refreshments 4pm to 8pm as part of History Night in Livermore Falls. Tours are free and for all ages. The museum is a non-profit, volunteer organization. All donations go toward museum repairs and operation costs.

Backroad Books read-a-thon!

You're invited to the Backroad Books 12-hour read-a-thon! The event will be May 21 from noon to midnight in the courthouse parking lot adjacent from Java Joes (church street) in Farmington. Bring your book! Bring your camp chair! Bring a few bucks for ice cream from Fresh Ellas! Pledge cards can be picked up at Twice Sold Tales (155 Main Street, Farmington). Katahdin Valley boys

The Vienna Union Hall announced the Katahdin Valley Boys one of Maines’s premiere bluegrass bands will return to the Vienna Union Hall, May 21, 2022 at 7 PM. The group plays traditional bluegrass music throughout the State of Maine and New England area. The band consists of four members who all rotate singing lead and provide beautiful, tight, harmonies and smooth solos. The Katahdin Valley Boys were honored as recipients of the “Bluegrass Band of the Year” award for 2012 by The Maine Country Music Association and in 2008, 2009 and 2011 by the Maine Academy of Country Music. Farmington Historical Society Meeting

Farmington Historical Society Monthly Meeting, Monday, May 23, North Church, 118 High St., 6:30 pm. No pot luck dinner, but a brief in-person meeting at the church, followed at 7 pm by a short walk to the Center Burying Ground (or Meeting House Cemetery), behind the courthouse. Deb Probert and Claudia Bell will lead a tour pointing out headstones of early Farmington citizens who were also veterans of the Revolutionary War. Members and guests — all are welcome.

Maine's Paper & Heritage Museum will be open for tours and a HUGE garage sale, Saturday June 4, 2022 9am to 3pm. There will be a special museum exhibit of memorabilia from the Livermore Falls High School Class of 1967! Lunch of barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs and dessert from noon to 1 pm.  Event is by donation. Western Maine Foothills Band Concert in the park series

The Western Maine Foothills Band will be performing in Farmington's Meeting House Park every Monday starting June 6, 2022 and ending Aug. 29, 2022 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM. We are a traditional band that plays marches, waltz's, big band, and several other choice music. We welcome anyone to join us at any time through out the summer. You can find us on Facebook.
