On Sunday, March 27, at 4:00, Janine Winn will be speaking at the First Congregational Church in Wilton at the invitation of Dr. David Smith, Pastor, about her experiences in Ukraine as a Peace Corps Volunteer, about her perceptions of Ukrainian people, and about the current war. Janine, a resident of Temple, served three years in Ukraine until the March 2020 evacuation of Volunteers due to the COVID pandemic. During that time she lived and worked in the village of Kosmach located in the Carpathian Mountains. She became a welcomed part of an extended family and was included in weddings,

UMF Community Chorus Concert

Saturday, April 23, 7:30 p.m. Nordica Auditorium, Merrill Hall Doors will open at 7:10 PM. The performance is free and open to the public. Come join the UMF chorus as they sing a cappella contemporary choral works from all over the world including England, Newfoundland, Brazil and the United States. The UMF Chorus will conclude the concert with a performance of Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway Musical, Sweeney Todd.

ArtsFarmington is excited to announce the return of Maine Mountain Chamber Music to Nordica Auditorium on Sunday April 24th at 3:00 PM. MMCM founders Yuri Funahashi, piano, and Laurie Kennedy, viola, will be joined by violinist Charles Dimmick and cellist Leo Eguchi. The program consists of Zoltan Kodaly’s Duo for Violin and Cello and Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C minor. Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus: A Centenary Celebration

Palaver Strings is a group of talented and socially conscious musicians from the Portland, ME area. Welcome Here celebrates the vitality of Maine’s indigenous and immigrant communities through music and storytelling. Palaver Strings, in partnership with the Abbe Museum, Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, and Indigo Arts Alliance, will collaborate with guest artists of Wabanaki, Congolese and Puerto Rican heritage, sharing traditional music and personal narratives. The program explores themes of Motherland, Mother Tongue and Mother love--interweaving stories of our relationship with the natural world, our cultural and linguistic traditions, and our dreams for the future generation of our grandchildren
