Poet Linda Aldrich reads in Rangeley, August 8th
Ecopelagicon nature store 7 Pond Street, Rangeley, MaineIn Rangeley on Sunday, August 8th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ecopelagicon nature store, the 14th annual Hugh Ogden Memorial Evening of Poetry will feature Rangeley and Portland poet Linda Aldrich reading from her new book, Ballast, which is available at Books, Lines, and Thinkers. The Evening begins with a brief community open reading of poetry; to sign up, come early or call Peggy at 864-3421. This event is free, and light refreshments will be served. For the health of all, please come vaccinated or masked.

Winner of the Rainbow Project Book List, Tomboy is a witty memoir about grappling with identity labels and stereotypes in the process of growing up. The reading group will meet on Feb. 9 to discuss Persepolis and on Feb. 16 to discuss Tomboy.

Rachel Lindsay's book, RX: A Graphic Memoir (2018), was the featured book for US National Network of Libraries of Medicine's mental health month 2019, and was included on the American Association of Medical Colleges' top ten summer reads list 2019. Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus: A Centenary Celebration
Farmington Public Library 117 Academy Street, Farmington, ME, United StatesExactly a century ago, Rainer Maria Rilke created the fifty-five Sonnets to Orpheus within one month in what he called a "hurricane" of creativity. Farmington author, translator, Teacher, and community activist John Rosenwald will present and discuss his translations of Rilke's sonnets, recently published by covered bridge press.

You're invited to the Backroad Books 12-hour read-a-thon! The event will be May 21 from noon to midnight in the courthouse parking lot adjacent from Java Joes (church street) in Farmington.
