Farmington Grange yard sale
The Farmington Grange will hold its last summer yard sale August 7, from 9 to 3 pm. It will be an inside and out sale featuring good used household goods, dishes, small kitchen appliances and lots of yummy baked goods. The purpose of the sale is to raise money for building maintenance and repairs. The grange may accept donations, for info please call 778-6637.

Jay-Niles Memorial Library Booksale
The Jay-Niles Memorial Library is holding a summer-long used book sale to benefit children’s library programs. The book sale is open Monday & Tuesday 1-6, Wednesday & Thursday 12-5, and Friday 9-2. Prices for books are by donation. A wide selection of books is available in the library’s Memorial Hall in the upstairs of the library. All are welcome to come shop through the huge collection of books, including books for children, teens, and adults, large-print books, paperback and hardcover books, fiction and nonfiction books, crafting books, and more. We also have DVDs, VHS, CDs, vinyl, and audiobooks for sale.

Chicken BBQ at Chesterville Family Fun Day
The Chesterville Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 14, 2021, will feature a Chicken BBQ cooked by Bob Gramlich at the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road. For $10.00, the meal will consist of half a chicken, coleslaw, rolls and butter, and pickles. Meals may be eaten on the premises or be taken out. Serving will begin at 11:00 a.m. Beverages may be purchased separately for $1.00. Proceeds from the BBQ will be used for next year's Family Fun Day.

OTIS Federal Credit Union's Annual Yard Sale to benefit Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger will be held on Saturday, August 21 in the OTIS FCU parking lot (170 Main Street in Jay). Prices are donation-based, and all reasonable donations will be accepted! All proceeds raised will stay local and benefit area hunger organizations. Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum, 22 Church Street Livermore Falls, will host the 3rd annual Paper Making Heritage Community Celebration on Saturday, August 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Events include museum tours, hands on paper making demonstrations, Riley family history presentation by Will Riley at 11 AM (Edwin Riley, Will’s great grandfather was the first manager of the Paper Mills built in the area which were incorporated with others to become International Paper Corporation), initial presentation of a model of the Riley Mansion crafted and donated to the museum by Robert Shink, garage sale and lunch of hot
