Collaborative Living Maine is bringing their Stone Soup Series to Maine Local Living School! This is an opportunity to mingle and learn about examples of and opportunities for living in community. It will include a workshop with Norway Equitable Housing Cooperative Project Coordinator, Thea Hart, about the Steps to Starting a Community followed by small group discussion. Winter seed sowing in clear plastic containers that act as mini greenhouses is an easy, inexpensive way to start seedlings. Come learn how to do it, and start some seedlings of your own! The program will be presented by wonderful local gardener, Rhonda Marquis, on Sunday, March 5, at 1PM at the Mt. Vernon Community Center. Materials will be provided, but it would be helpful if you bring a gallon milk jug & some seeds to share. Limit is 15 participants, and pre-registration is required. This 12-week cohort provides technical guidance to 10-12 women of color who are either at the pre-start or very early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. Each 90 minute, in-person session will be facilitated by Grace Mo-Phillips, WBC Business Advisor. Through practical business training and peer discussions, participants help one another define and refine their business ideas, identify where the opportunities and challenges lie, and develop strategies to overcome barriers in starting or growing their business.
