In this 2-part workshop, immigrant entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs will: Explore opportunities in exporting and importing goods, Discuss practical considerations in starting an export or import business, Review resources available to support international trade Both sessions are ideal for immigrant entrepreneurs in Maine looking to better understand the export/import processes. The talk will be held in UMF’s Preble Hall, Thomas Auditorium, at 173 High Street in Farmington. Maine has over 2,500 Great Ponds. Western Maine Audubon is pleased to announce a presentation titled, The Distribution and Ecology of the Butterflies of Maine on Wednesday, May 10th at 7 pm in UMF’s North Dining Hall. The presentation, which is free to the public, will be given by retired Professor of Biology, Herb Wilson. Dr. Wilson’s talk will center around the findings presented in the Butterflies of Maine and Maritime Provinces, to be published this fall by the Cornell University Press. This publication is based on a citizen-science project (the Maine Butterfly Survey or MBS) with field work conducted between 2003 and 2019. Many members

Miso Making Workshop
Join go-en fermented foods for a miso making workshop and discussion about miso and its uses, as well as the history and cultural significance of this traditional fermented food of Japan. Having been produced for more than a millennium, miso utilizes techniques and relationships that have been passed down from generation to generation with little alteration.
