Gold Leaf Senior College Summer semester sign-up
Registration is now open for our summer semester. Gold Leaf is for people 50 or older. Summer programs include activities ranging from educational classes to social activities. Please go to our website at (goldleafinstitute.org) to view our offerings and sign-up.
City Lights North Summer Performing Arts Camp
Old State Theatre City Lights North 231 Broadway, Farmington20th Annual Summer Performing Arts Camp 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily (including weekends) July 1-16 July 1 is registration: come between 8 and 12 to register and work a bit. Performance on the 16th. This program is free; it is a demanding pre-professional program in dance, singing, acting, fencing, and art. Ages 6-17. Living Well with Chronic Pain
This class is designed for people who have a diagnosis of chronic pain, offering strategies for dealing with their symptoms. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.
Steps to Start a Business
Common Threads of Maine 90 Bridge Street, Suite 305,, WestbrookThe CEI Women’s Business Center (WBC) and Westbrook-based Common Threads of Maine (CTM) are collaborating in this in-person 4-part cohort. During each interactive session, participants will learn the steps to start a business, the key elements of financial projections, and how to develop a business plan. Existing business owners in the textile industry will join and share their experiences on how they started their business. Aspiring entrepreneurs in other industries may also benefit from this business training series.
