On February 26th, we will be having a Public Take out supper. We are located at 120 School Street from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Meal will include Chicken Leg Quarters, Stuffing, Corn, Bread & dessert. Adults $10 & under 12, $5. As those anxious to begin tapping maple trees are now hanging sapping pails, gardeners are anxious to get back to digging in the warm earth. The Mt. Blue Area Garden Club welcomes you to its first meeting of 2022 on March 15, 12:30 at Trinity United Methodist Church on Farmington Falls Road, Farmington. The program will be  sharing "Tried and True Gardening Tips." They will also discuss suggestions for speakers and programs for future meetings. Town of Starks Appeals Board Hearing

The Appeals Board will have a public hearing on a request from New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) for an extension variance of their Site Plan and Shoreland Zoning Project in Starks. This variance would grant an 18 month  extension until December 2, 2023. Summary: The Site Plan Review Ordinance limits the duration of the Site Plan Approvals to an initial twelve months and two 6 month extensions.  NECEC Transmission, LLC would like an additional 18 month  extension until December 2, 2023 due to issues beyond their control.  Questions/concerns can be sent to townofstarks@gmail.com with Appeals Board – NECEC Variance

Western Maine Audubon presents “Maine’s Damselflies and Dragonflies” – a presentation by Dr. Ron Butler Western Maine Audubon will sponsor a presentation by Dr. Ron Butler titled, “Maine’s Damselflies and Dragonflies” on Wednesday, May 11th at 7:00 pm in UMF’s Lincoln Auditorium. This presentation—which is open to the general public—will begin with a general overview of the evolution, ecology, and behavior of damselflies and dragonflies (Order Odonata). This will be followed by a brief survey of some of Maine’s 161 known odonate species.
