Come to Strong for the Sandy River Festival, a day-long celebration of the natural beauty and rich history of the region. Water access for canoes, kayaks, activities and parking will be at the Legion Field at the bridge. Activities for all ages: Paddle from Strong to Fairbanks, with return shuttle provided (3 hrs.-9 miles of easy water; life jackets required per Maine law). The White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival begins Friday June 16th, with a reception at the Rangeley Inn & Tavern at 6:00 PM. There will also be a live auction of top-of-the-line fly-fishing rods. The auction proceeds will benefit The Chamber of Commerce as well as a Non-Profit committed to helping others. The Show Saturday June 17th 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at The Rangeley Inn, will include arts, books, gear, tying & casting lessons, the chance to try gear from top manufacturers, conservation groups, raffles and much more! It’s time to get the Fly Rod Crosby Trail ready for summer hiking!  Spend a day in the backcountry, with beautiful views of Maine’s High Peaks including Saddleback and Mt Abram and with wild-life sightings while helping maintain an all-volunteer heritage trail in Madrid Township. Trail work for beginners-advanced. We will be trimming vegetation, removing sticks and blowdowns, and some trail repair/rerouting.  Please bring your own water, bug dope, sunblock, raingear, boots, lunch or snack, wading shoes and favorite trail tools. We also have loppers, clippers, gloves, safety glasses and helmets to borrow.
