RANGELEY XC LOPPET March 2, 2024 The 29th annual legendary Rangeley Lakes Loppet will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 2nd and 3rd, 2024. The races are 50k Freestyle, 25k Freestyle, 25k Classic, and 25k Touring. Two refreshment stations along the course offer cookies, water, and Hammer Heed® to help you along the way. Both days feature our famous apres-ski feed, free of charge for all participants! Bring the family for a weekend of winter fun! 1th Annual Marty’s Moose Dash Snowshoe Race
The course winds through woodlands north of Saddleback Mountain and includes single-track and Nordic-groomed trails. Views and possible wildlife sightings are included! Classes include 5K junior, 5K adult, 1K Kids Fun Run, and a 5K untimed tour. Races start at 10:30 AM - registration is accepted up to 1 hour before the race.

Western Maine Audubon is sponsoring a talk by Greg LeClair titled, “Maine Big Night: Amphibian Migration Monitoring.” The talk will be held live in Thomas Auditorium, Preble Hall on the UMF campus on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm. It is free and open to the general public. April showers bring more than just May flowers to Maine - they also bring the massive annual breeding migration of amphibians throughout the state colloquially known as "big nights." As many of these amphibians plod and hop through the landscape, they unfortunately face difficult obstacles towards reaching their breeding locations. While

Racers get ready! A Saddleback tradition is back. We will announce the theme in early March. This event is free to participate but racers will need to register and sign a waiver.
