7th Annual Fat-Tire Bike Loppet

Our bike courses take advantage of the beautiful varied terrain we have available here at the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center, from wide straight-a-ways to gradual ascent and descents, to some aggressive hill climb/descent opportunities. Views and possible wildlife sightings are included! Classes include 10 and 20 mile nordic groomed, 10 and 20 mile single track mix, and a 10 mile nordic untimed tour. The 14th annual tournament will once again be held in spectacular Rangeley, Maine from February 12th - 13th. This wonderful event will celebrate a time-honored New England tradition. We look forward to seeing participants and spectators alike!

On the menu are the 25K Burt Kettle Classic, 25K and 50K freestyle races, and a 25K untimed touring! Our 25K loop is nice mix of wide, rolling, straight sections and classic New England Nordic trails that wind through native forestland located at the foot of the majestic Saddleback Mountain. The course winds through woodlands north of Saddleback Mountain and includes single track and nordic groomed trails. Come join the experience of celebrating Easter morning way up on Sugarloaf. Please arrive early and overdress! It’s always much colder than you think. Bring a headlamp if you have one; some people find that helpful getting to where we stand for the service. Meet at the base of the Super Quad Chair. Lift will load from 5:00-5:05 AM only Sunday morning, April 17th. No lift ticket required. You must ski/board down. Recommended for people intermediate level or above (trail can be firm and dim that time of morning). Lift may change due to weather.
