Phillips Public Library 96 Main Street, Phillips, ME, United StatesThe Phillips Public Library Seed Loan Project presents - Laura Suomi-Lecker is the technical manager of the Ag Allies statewide grassland bird habitat project. She will discuss Maine's grassland-dependent bird species and their conservation, as well as best management practices to improve grassland habitat while maintaining sustainable hay crops. Richard Kersbergen is the Extension Professor for Sustainable Dairy and Forage Systems with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup
Downtown Farmington Array, Farmington, ArrayThe 9th annual Farmington Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup is being held on Friday April 22nd from 1-3PM. Everyone is welcome to participate: individuals, groups, young and old. Meet at the Pierce House lawn on 204 Main Street anytime between 1 and 3pm. Cleanup for as long as you want. Bags and gloves are provided by the Farmington Public Works Department. This presentation—which is open to the general public—will begin with a general overview of the evolution, ecology, and behavior of damselflies and dragonflies (Order Odonata). This will be followed by a brief survey of some of Maine’s 161 known odonate species. On Saturday, May 21, 2022, there will be a Public Pickup /Takeout Supper at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Building, 70 Bryant Road, East Wilton, Maine , from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. The menu will be Baked Roast Beef, Potatoes, Vegetable, Rolls and Pumpkin Pie Crunch. The price will be $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for those under 12.
