Storytelling workshops continue

Have you ever wished you could keep a crowd on the edge of their seats with a good story? Well now is your chance! The Rangeley Friends of the Arts has received a Discovery Grant from the Onion Foundation to host Storytelling Workshops. The workshops will be held twice a month with an opportunity to perform monthly. Come craft your story with our favorite funny man, storyteller extraordinaire and RLRS English teacher, Tim Straub. Participants should come to the workshop with some ideas for your own story, something that really happened to you. Since you are telling a true story,

Living Well with Chronic Pain

This class is designed for people who have a diagnosis of chronic pain, offering strategies for dealing with their symptoms. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and how to evaluate new treatments.


Town of Starks Appeals Board Hearing

The Appeals Board will have a public hearing on a request from New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) for an extension variance of their Site Plan and Shoreland Zoning Project in Starks. This variance would grant an 18 month  extension until December 2, 2023. Summary: The Site Plan Review Ordinance limits the duration of the Site Plan Approvals to an initial twelve months and two 6 month extensions.  NECEC Transmission, LLC would like an additional 18 month  extension until December 2, 2023 due to issues beyond their control.  Questions/concerns can be sent to with Appeals Board – NECEC Variance


Campfire Chronicles

Better Health Now with Diabetes

Better Health with Diabetes is a free mail order toolkit for those who have or are at risk of diabetes and/or their caregivers. Participants must pre-register to receive their toolkit workshop materials and work with a certified leader via telephone or ZOOM at predetermined times either by yourself or in small groups. This process allows the participant all of the educational benefits of the Living Well with Diabetes workshop and equips them with tools to effectively manage their ongoing condition(s), all while maintaining social distancing from their home.


Book Sale

A BIG, well-organized sale of books in good condition for readers of all ages and interests plus DVDs, music CDs, and puzzles.  Pricing is by donation and all proceeds go to the Wilton Library's collections and services.  Face coverings are required for everyone over 2 years of age.

Estate/Yard sale

There will be a large estate/yard sale at 249 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington in front of the self storage facility on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 from 9 AM to 4 PM and again on May 6 and 7 also from 9 AM to 4 PM weather permitting.

Pop-UP Sales at the Farmington Public Library

Saturdays in May 10:30-1:30, artisans will be selling their wares, and the library will be selling plants.  All proceeds from the plants benefit the library and a portion of the arts and crafts sold will benefit the library.  These events will be May 7, 14, and 21.


Plein Air Watercolor Painting

Barbara Hathaway, Painter of Sunset, is offering two Plein Air Watercolor Painting Workshops through the Adult Education Program, April 26, 2022, Tuesday, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at 32 Maple St. Wilton, and May 3rd, Tuesday, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the same location. Each workshop is $48 per person. Students bring their own Watercolor supplies with 140 lb. Watercolor paper and their own easel. Student can also use Acrylic with a canvas not larger than 16" x 20". Industry Community Kitchen Socials

Industry Community Kitchen Time to start our luncheons/socials again!  Socialize with friends 11am- 1pm with lunch served at noon. Rilke’s Sonnets to Orpheus: A Centenary Celebration

Exactly a century ago, Rainer Maria Rilke created the fifty-five Sonnets to Orpheus within one month in what he called a "hurricane" of creativity. Farmington author, translator, Teacher, and community activist John Rosenwald will present and discuss his translations of Rilke's sonnets, recently published by covered bridge press.
