Winter Sowing
Mt. Vernon Community Center 2 Main St., Mt. Vernon, ME, ME, United StatesWinter seed sowing in clear plastic containers that act as mini greenhouses is an easy, inexpensive way to start seedlings. Come learn how to do it, and start some seedlings of your own! The program will be presented by wonderful local gardener, Rhonda Marquis, on Sunday, March 5, at 1PM at the Mt. Vernon Community Center. Materials will be provided, but it would be helpful if you bring a gallon milk jug & some seeds to share. Limit is 15 participants, and pre-registration is required. Since 2016, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife has deployed lightweight GPS tracking devices on Great Blue Herons to follow their movements during nesting, migration, and wintering.
