Did you ever wonder where Maine’s Great Blue Herons go in winter, and what path they travel to get there? Since 2016, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife has deployed lightweight GPS tracking devices on Great Blue Herons to follow their movements during nesting, migration, and wintering.

Trinity United Methodist Church in Farmington is having our second Saturday Baked Bean Buffet Supper at 4:30-6:00 pm Sat., March 11th. The menu includes red hot dogs, home cooked baked beans, turkey n’ gravy over biscuits, baked mac n’ cheese, assorted salads, coleslaw, and blueberry cobbler for dessert. Adults $9.00, children 12-5 years $4.00 and children under 4 years are free. All money raised will go to our local mission work.

Father Daughter Dances (2 Locations)

The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will be holding two simultaneous Father Daughter Dances again this year on Saturday March 11th 2023 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. One dance will take place in Jay at the Spruce Mountain Middle School Gym, and the other will take place in the more northern area of Franklin County in Strong at the Day Mountain Middle School Gym. Anyone wishing to purchase advance tickets may do so beginning mid-February at the Children’s Task Force in Farmington, the Flower Barn in Jay, the White Elephant in Strong, and/or Edmunds Market in Kingfield. 10th Annual Moose Dash Snowshoe Race

The course winds through woodlands north of Saddleback Mountain and includes single track and Nordic groomed trails. Views and possible wildlife sightings are included! Al-Anon, a self-help support group for families and friends of alcoholics, is meeting every Sunday evening at 7 p.m., in the Crosby Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
