Free Photography Workshop
Emery Community Arts Center at the University of Maine at FarmingtonJoin Dawn Nye (Associate Professor of Art and New Media at UMF) for a free photography workshop that will feature: basics of composition, strategies to involve narrative in visual media, and hands-on practice. This workshop is for all levels and will allow participants to turn even the most casual, at-home photos into intriguing narratives while considering how you can tell stories through photography. If possible, please bring a camera or camera phone to this event. Please email the New Commons Project if you would like to come but will need to borrow a camera.

RIDE THE NARROW GAUGE! The SRRL RR Museum, 128 Bridge St in Phillips, will operate on Sat Sept 25 and Sun Sept 26. Trains will depart Bridge St at 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, and 3PM. The trees are changing, enjoy the scenic splendor along the banks of the Sandy River! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy! Walk the Flyrod Crosby Trail…. Fare is $6.00 for Adults, $2.00 for Children. Well behaved Dogs on a leash may accompany their humans!

It is hosted here at Martin Woods Farm on Sept. 25th from 12:00AM to 6:00PM. We will be following the Covid-19 guidelines for outdoor activities. Our activities include (but not limited to) carriage rides, live local music, face painting, pony rides, lawn games, bonfires and s’mores, and many many yummy farm fresh food offerings. Gospel Service at North New Portland Community Church
Come and join us for a fun service – no sermon, just gospel songs and lots of opportunity to join in! We will be raising the rafters with well-loved gospel singer Sammie Angel and contributions from members of the church. Refreshments will be provided afterwards.
