Nordica Day Concert

Performing in this year’s Nordica Day Concert will be Kaleigh Hunter and Emma Jones, winners of last year’s Nordica Scholarship. They will be live-streamed from Nordica Auditorium on August 17 at 7:30. August 17 was the date in 1911 when world-famous opera diva and Farmington native, Lillian Nordica, performed in her hometown.The direct link to the live-streamed performance can be accessed on mtbluetv.org or artsfarmington.org. There is no charge, as it is a gift to the community from the Nordica Memorial Association. The video can also be viewed after August 27 on the above Mt. Blue TV and ArtsFarmington websites.

Free bluegrass concert

Webb Lake Association is hosting a Free bluegrass concert featuring The Sandy River Ramblers on Friday, August 20 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Weld Town Hall. The WLA will have its annual meeting prior at 6:00 p.m. which is also open to the public.

Bat Walk!

Friday August 20 meet at the library at 7pm to enjoy a bat snack, learn some interesting facts about bats, see a bat skeleton and bat guano amongst other things,   and for the younger crowd, listen to a bat story and do a bat craft if there is time. If not, Take & Makes will be available. At around 7:45pm we will head over to Teaberry Lane, where parking will be available on the first house on the right. From there we will walk down the road and listen for bat echolocations under the guidance of Shevenell Webb, local Wildlife

OTIS FCU’s Annual Yard Sale for Ending Hunger

OTIS Federal Credit Union's Annual Yard Sale to benefit Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger will be held on Saturday, August 21 in the OTIS FCU parking lot (170 Main Street in Jay). Prices are donation-based, and all reasonable donations will be accepted! All proceeds raised will stay local and benefit area hunger organizations.
