Community Night of Giving
Community Night of Giving
Trees will be decorated by local business and presented daily form 11/24 to 12/9. Buy your raffle ticket for a chance to win the beautiful trees! Watch for announcements on Facebook. A free community Christmas party will take place at the Furbish Brew House and Eats on 12/9 and trees winners will be announced. Hot chocolate, hardy snacks will be provided. Come join us for some Community Christmas Cheer!

Spruce Mountain High School will perform the high-energy musical, The Lightening Thief on December 1st and 2nd on the SMHS stage. The Lightening Thief is based on the popular young adult novel of the same name and uses a creative set, costumes and lighting to bring Percy Jackson’s adventures to life. Students have been rehearsing the show since October and the Spruce Mountain Tech Theater Class has been working on set and Monster building, props and costumes since the start of the school year. UMF Choral Concert
FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Community Chorus, made up of 50+ community members and UMF students, will hold a concert at the Old South Church in Farmington on Sunday, December 3. The chorus will perform the choral works of Z. Randall Stroupe, Felix Mendelsson, Thomas Tallis, Roger Emmerson and culminate with John Rutter’s Gloria featuring organ, brass and percussion. Doors open at 3:40 p.m. with the show starting at 4 p.m., and admittance fee is by donation.

Old South Church Concert Series is excited to bring the world-renowned Celtic band Coig back to Farmington for the annual ECU Heat Share Fuel Assistance Fund Christmas Concert to benefit Franklin County residents on Tuesday, December 5. Coig has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars since including Old South Church in their “Coig Christmas” tour. Doors will open at 6:15 pm. The concert begins at 7pm. Join us at the Farmington Public Library on Wednesday, December 6th, at 6pm for an interesting talk from Maine author Ret Talbot, who co-authored Chasing Shadows: My Life Tracking the Great White Shark. Chasing Shadows is the remarkable story of the resurgence of the white shark population in the western North Atlantic. It is a too-rare conservation success story about restoring an apex predator to an ecosystem.
