NEW SHARON – One driver was taken to the hospital after her station wagon collided with a logging truck at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 27 this morning.

Inga Hanna, 78, of South Portland, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services after her Mercury Sable station wagon collided with the logging truck and crashed through a sign in the Douin’s Market parking lot.

“She was trying to cross into the parking lot at Douin’s Market, hesitated in the intersection, and was struck by the tractor trailer,” said Trooper Josh Birmingham of the State Police. The fully-loaded logging truck was driven by Brad Dube, 32, of Anson. Hanna, he said, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but didn’t believe she was injured.

New Sharon and Farmington’s fire departments were on scene at the crash site minutes after the call came in at 10:36 a.m.
