Dummies thrill, spill and drill their landings

WEST FARMINGTON – Titcomb Mountain Ski Areas’s final weekend of the season included the 14th annual Downhill Dummy Competition on Saturday. A huge crowd of spectators turned out on the beautiful warm afternoon to watch several “dummies” ski down the Main slope. Judging categories for the entries included originality, workmanship, longest distance, most spectacular crash, jump distance and jump crash. Above, the kayaker “dummy” shows some real hangtime coming down the slope.

The Brittain family’s entry, “R2-Ski-2,” took home the top awards in the originality, workmanship and overall best distance categories.
