Farmington Area Ski Team wins the Class A Middle School State Championship

The Farmington Area Ski Team earned the Class A Middle School State Championship this week. Mt Abram hosted the first leg of the Alpine State Meet on Feb. 11 with Nordic racing at Sunny Croft Farms. Titcomb Mountain hosted the final meet on Feb. 14, followed by the Awards Banquet at Mt Blue High School. FAST Alpine girls finished 2nd in the Combined Event (GS and SL) with Alpine boys finishing 4th. Nordic girls and boys won their Combined Event (Classic and Freestyle). Girls finished 1st and boys 2nd in the Overall Event (Nordic and Alpine combined). Ski Meister’s (all styles in Alpine and Nordic) Ike Doiron finished 1st and Max Kay finished 10th. The Bib Drawing gave prizes to each skier from sponsors; Ski Depot, Subway, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, The Dugout, Arkay, House of Pizza, MG’s, Narrow Gauge Cinema, Sunday River, Titcomb Mtn., Dunkin Donuts, Java Joes, Calico Patch, Mickey’s and more.  Thank you to the volunteers and sponsors who made this event such a success.
