1 min read

Lance Harvell of Farmington is sworn in by Gov. John Baldacci on Thursday to fill the state House District 89 seat, which represents the towns of Farmington and Industry. Harvell, a Republican, won the House District 89 seat by defeating Democrat Dennis Haszko of Farmington, 1235 to 617 in a special election held Tuesday. Harvell fills the seat vacated by Janet Mills, a Democrat, after she won the District 89 seat in November and then was elected in December to the state’s attorney general post. With Harvell, the House Republicans total 55, with 95 Democrats and one unenrolled member, Rep. Tom Saviello of Wilton. (Photo courtesy of Shawn Roderick, House Republican Office)
