Wilton’s Third Thursday celebration of summer continues tonight

WILTON – Tonight music, fun activities, art on exhibit and more will combine for the second Third Thursday of the summer on Main Street in downtown tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Shepherd’s Pie with its secular, rock n’ roll, rhythm and blues and jazz brand of musical entertainment will headline the event at the monument. The group includes Tim Wallace, lead guitarist; Jon Abel, bass; Chris Yardley, drums; Jodie Gunther, keyboard; and Katerine Poulson and Patty Schoen, vocalists.

The work of local artist Debbi Hiltz will be on display in the windows of Wilton Printed Products.

A Kids Fun Zone, with games and activities including  jump ropes, Frisbees and hula hoops, will also be offered near the monument.

Antique and special interest cars will be parked along the downtown street, and there will be a raffle to win a ride in one of the cars.

The local restaurants, and some businesses, will be open along with more local entertainment. A farmers’ market (pictured above at May’s Third Thursday), dancing, food vendors, and activities for every age.

Residents and friends are invited to bring a chair, eat downtown and watch or join in the fun. The next Third Thursday will take place on July 16 and August 20.
