Big turnout for Make Tracks for Kids

The Franklin County Children’s Task Force held its annual Make Tracks for Kids fundraiser on Oct. 18 with the Old Crow Band once again kicking off the event with lively music in downtown Farmington’s Meetinghouse Park. This year’s event saw a huge turnout of University of Maine at Farmington students and local businesses and supporters who braved the colder than normal temperatures to support the children and families of Franklin County. The largest team to walk in this year’s event was lead by UMF Professor Mellisa Clawson who lead 16 of her students and supporters on the 2.5 mile walk. However, the day could not have happened if not for the generosity of Franklin Savings Bank who not only acts as corporate sponsor, but pulls together a team of walkers every year and participates. “This year’s event exceeded our expectations with wonderful participation and a true sense of community,” said Renee Blanchet, executive director of the Franklin County Children’s Task Force.
