FARMINGTON – What’s better than two weeks of school vacation?  Starting it off with Curtain Raisers comedy, that’s what! Laughter fills the aisles of Mt. Blue High School’s auditorium as the Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers Improv Troupe return to the stage, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m.  The group, pictured above, back row, left to right: Stuart Lawson, Nick Beach, Morgan Spencer, Joseph Slater, Anthea Fletcher, Zoe Hardy, Matt Allen; and in the front row, left to right: Jessica Baxter, Morgen Hall, Carolyn Magri, Alex Allen, will deliver their new show, “Small Parts Included,” and promise not to be a choking hazard for anyone.

The Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers perform a combination of improv games in the vein of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and longer, more extended comic scenes based on suggestions provided by the audience.  The group’s recent performance and food pantry benefit at MBHS drew huge crowds and they hope to keep the energy going.  Audiences can expect favorite games like “Excuses” and “Diagnosis,” and the seasonally appropriate, “Three Ghosts” but are warned: no show is ever the same twice.  (Rumors of another song by Stuart Lawson are not exaggerated, however.)

The group has ambitions to continue its tradition of out of state performances and all admission dollars will go toward the cause.  In addition, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 5 – 8 p.m., people who eat at Farmington Subway have the opportunity to help the group.  For more information, contact artistic director, Dan Ryder at dryder@msad9.org.

“Small Parts Included” runs Thursday and Friday, Dec. 18 and 19 at Mt. Blue High School.  Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.  Admission is only $3 for an hour and a half of goodness.
