FARMINGTON – The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area invites area non-profit organizations that serve Franklin County, Livermore and Livermore Falls to submit a proposal for funding. Applications are due Dec. 14, 2008. This year, the community allocations panel is very interested in proposals that do one or more of the following:

• Develop new and innovative programs that have significant, measurable community impact,
• Address ways to meet immediate human needs, including the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area’s top five priorities of fuel, food, shelter, prescription medication, and elder services,
• Address our community’s immediate needs, but also look upstream to long-term prevention efforts

Requests are reviewed by the community allocations panel, which is made up of community members, United Way of the Tri-Valley Area board members, and United Way staff. Funding of these requests is based on 2009 campaign contributions, the relative need for services provided, the effectiveness of the services, and a justification for the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area funding request as it relates to other sources of funding. Organizations should direct any questions regarding this process to the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area at 778-5048. Forms and eligibility requirements are also available on line at  www.uwtva.org.
