FARMINGTON – In recognizing its 25th year of service, Franklin County’s sexual-assault crisis response center, SAVES (Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services), is hosting an Open House at its new space on the second floor of the Holman House at 227 Main Street.

The Open House is set to take place on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 4 –7 p.m. An inclement weather date of Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 from 4 -7 p.m. is also scheduled. There is no entrance fee, nor is an R.S.V.P. necessary.

“This is an exciting time for us,” said Executive Director Judy Rawlings. “We’re entering into a new quarter-century of service to Franklin County with energy and direction.”

The Open House will feature a photo retrospective of SAVES’ 25 years of service; the opportunity to order novelty chocolate and Valentines in support of violence-free relationships and healthy communities; music; a cash wine bar; h’oersdouerves; and a fifty-fifty raffle. SAVES staff, volunteers, and members of the Board of Directors will be available to answer questions during the Open House. Area legislators and community members will speak on the impact of SAVES’ 25 years in Franklin County at 5 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to staff this event. To learn more or to get involved, contact SAVES at 778-9522 or visit SAVES’ website at www.savesrapecrisis.org.
