Wilton Blueberry Farm temporarily stopping pick-your-own until Aug. 15

WILTON – The owners of the Wilton Blueberry Farm have temporarily stopped “pick-your-own” operations.
According to Jan Collins and Irv Faunce, additional time is needed to allow the blueberries time to ripen.

“While we began picking last week, it is clear to us that the gray skies and overcast weather have slowed
the ripening process down considerably. The berries need some time in the sun,” they said, “so that all those green and purple berries can turn blue.”

Picking is expected to begin again Saturday August 15 at 8 a. m. when the farm will resume its normal operating schedule.

Pickers are reminded to call the farm first at 645-2128 for daily updates.

The Wilton blueberry Farm is open to the public seven days per week. Hours are 8 a. m. – 4 p. m. on
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; Noon – 7 p. m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
