Changes in vaccine coverage for children

1 min read

Beginning this year, the Maine Immunization Program will be supplying childhood vaccines free of charge only for qualified children who are 18 years or younger.

Qualified children include: those who have MaineCare for insurance; Native Americans; those who have no insurance; and those who are underinsured (have insurance that does not cover vaccine).

For all other children, vaccines received will be billed to one’s health insurance. Therefore it is important to review health insurance coverage regarding vaccines before an annual visit to your family doctor.

Due to these vaccine supple changes, every child will be screened for qualification before vaccines are administered at Franklin Health Pediatrics, Franklin Health Farmington Family Practice, Franklin Health Wilton Family Practice, and Franklin Health Livermore Falls Family Practice.
